Designing the mobile application for Public Transport in Prague

My goal was to make the user experience as easy and intuitive as possible, so you can quickly look up connections and buy tickets - no matter if it’s sunny or raining and you’re in a rush. We had to keep in mind different user personas based on how they intended to use the application - whether it be looking up the right connection or simply buying a ticket.

The users complained about not having a single, unified application which would allow them to look up connection and buy passes on the go. I had to think of all the possible scenarios and challenges the users might face in real life situations, such as bad contrast due to direct sunlight, etc.

The Solution

Easy Navigation

The main priority was to make the navigation easy and intuitive so it could be used in a rush, during bad weather conditions, etc. As a result, the PID Lítačka app lets you display a map with stops, including the navigation to them.

Looking up connections

The application allows you to search for the quickest connections, information about traffic closures and restrictions, and the fares for your trips.

Purchasing tickets easily

Purchasing tickets can be as easy as a couple of clicks – just select the type of ticket, purchase it and activate it. You can even purchase tickets in advance and use them later on, as you need.

Intuitive ticket management
